About the role


We are recruiting for a Claims Team Leader to be responsible for all aspects of customer service within the team, monitoring of the team to improve performance and ensuring that company processes and compliance are adhered to.

The Claims Team Leader will have oversight of the day-to-day management of the claims handling team, including management of the team workload within our Birmingham claims office.

Overview of duties
Day to day management of the claims team e.g. holidays, sickness, absence and wellbeing
Conduct team performance reviews and monitor performance of the team in accordance with company policy
Understanding and utilising operational measures to build capability within the team
Monitoring adherence to the complaints process and support Regulatory Compliance and the TCF initiatives.
Implementing training and technical support to the teams and ensuring that suitable development plans are in place
Referral point for claim escalations, technical referrals and providing guidance and support as required
Managing a claim file allocation appropriate to the role
Support the Claims Leadership on emerging claims team projects and role modelling a culture of continuous improvement
Primary contact point for the Client Executive team enquiries
Person specification


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

Proven experience in a similar role, leading a team ideally in the insurance industry
Claims Handling and Claims Management skills, preferably in a commercial environment
Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve performance and quality targets.
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities


Education and/or Experience:

Knowledge of the Insurance Industry and Claims Processes
Experience of Team Management/Leadership
CII Qualifications or relevant industry qualifications preferred
