In this role you will ensure that financial decisions on property and building matters are updated and that any risks are predicted and handled.

You will be working closely with multiple teams across the organisation and must ensure that all matter hare handled in a proactive manner.

Key Responsibilities as a Property Surveyor:

  • To inform on property and building matters, producing reports on key areas of responsibility and technical concerns on specific properties or groups of properties
  • To analysis development proposals, building maintenance programmes and service contracts
  • Maintain an oversight of strategic issues relating to the maintenance of properties, including exploring and implementing innovative, environmental and sustainable solutions
  • Supervise fabric and related works on site, guaranteeing works are completed on time, to quality standards and budget and comply with all proper legislation, bylaws, good professional practice
  • Lead, master and develop the team of Maintenance Officers. Agree objectives, delivery targets and KPIs. Construct opportunities for personal development, including engagement in cross team projects
  • To supply information for the database on the condition of properties and the components required upon completion of works or projects and to ensure continuous and timely updating of information for the computer database
  • To keep up to date with all of changes in law, statutory requirements, health and safety issues, technical developments, and good practice in building and technical areas including Housing and commercial related legislation
  • To monitor and report upon the performance of works by consultants, specialist tradespeople and contractors and advise on the suitability of firm
  • To guarantee that relevant staff, residents, and commercial tenants are kept informed and notify of daytoday activities and commitments and liaise with colleagues on issues that impact their areas of work
  • To respond professionally, either verbally or in writing to enquiries or complaints from customers in a nontechnical way and to promote good working relationships to ensure a responsive customer focused service

Key Requirements:

  • Relevant professional qualification
  • RICS or equivalent
  • Knowledge in the surveying environment in commercial and in housing maintenance
  • Experience in managing a multiuse portfolio of housing or building stock
  • Exceptional knowledge of health and safety and legal requirements on housing/property stock
  • Experience in project management and meeting and exceeding SLA and KPI performance markers
  • Great interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Effectively work with stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Competent IT capabilities
