About us


The Green Giraffe Day Nursery We are an Organic Day Nursery looking after 3 months to 5 years old children.

We cook fresh, nutritious, organic meals to our children and cater for their individual dietary needs


We are currently looking to recruit a Nursery Cook for the Green Giraffe Organic Day Nursery in our Cardiff Bay CF11 0SR.

The Cook is an essential part of the team. This is a full time;

  • Position, 40 hours per week, working between 8:00am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday. We can be flexible on hours if required, or provide part time if required.

The main duties will be:

  • Preparing organic, healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children aged 3 months to 5 years old.
  • Breakfast, lunch, light tea, snack.
  • Ensuring the kitchen remains compliant with the Health and Safety regulations and continuing to maintain our Level 5 food hygiene rating.
  • A good knowledge of allergens and special dietary requirements is required.
  • Follow menus taking into consideration the dietary requirements of the children and preparing appropriate meals in line with weekly menus
  • Stock control and completing weekly shopping list.
  • Recording food temperatures accurately.
  • Keeping paperwork up to date.
  • General cleaning of the kitchen and equipment/appliances.

Experience:


  • Cooking: 2 years (preferred)
