Do you want the opportunity to work with in a Specialist Service and develop new knowledge and skills?


Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is looking for a qualified RMN or RLDN to join our specialist personality disorder unit which specialises in delivering a comprehensive DBT programme.

RMN (Specialist DBT Unit for personality disorders)

Fern is a 10 bed unit that works to rehabilitate patients with EUPD alongside other comorbidities into the community.

Since opening 3 years ago the unit has built a dynamic and psychologically minded team who are passionate in developing the service to meet the needs of its service users and are now looking for RMN's who are looking to do the same.

We will consider both full and part time hours whilst also allowing for some flexibility with shift patterns.


Whilst working on Fern you will have the opportunity to work within a specialist team that empowers patients to manage their emotions and develop positive life skills for the future.

You will also have the opportunity to develop your skills and train in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT).

This includes the chance to facilitate DBT skills groups, join a consult of existing DBT therapists, coach patients 1:1 and via telephone, and work towards delivering 1:1 therapy

Our Fern ward have an experienced Multi-Disciplinary team who work closely together, this includes

  • Consultant Psychiatrist, Specialty Doctor, Registered Mental Health Nurses, Registered General Nurses Healthcare Assistants, Dietitians, Psychologists, Occupational therapy, Social Work which you will become part of. The team offer comprehensive DBT therapy and with the support of the MDT the DBT team help service users develop skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness.


In the role you will undertake and manage direct patient care, having participated fully in the assessment, planning and evaluation of care needs.


The role will also include the below duties:

  • Delivery of care to patients and to work in the capacity of a key nurse with allocated patients to agreed quality standards.
  • To maintain your own clinical supervision monthly and to supervise and support allocated HCA staff.
  • You will also be responsible for the care, security and maintenance of the equipment, drugs and other consumables on the ward/department.
  • You will have shared responsibility for the confidentiality, security and accuracy of patient records, data and information.
  • Ensuring good quality patient documentation, which meets regulatory guidelines and statutory requirements.

Our shift patterns are:

Day shifts - 7:30am to 8pm

Night shifts - 7:30pm to 8am
