We are looking for some excellent people to join our company as Ambulance Care Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to combine practical and on the job training, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Salary:
£10.74 per hour


Qualification:
Level 3 Award in

Patient Care Services:
Ambulance Driving (RQF)
& Level 2 Award in Safeguarding and Protecting Children, Young People and Adults at Risk (RQF)


Training Provider:
Base Green

  • Hold a
    Full UK driving licence (with 3 or less points)
  • Be committed to patient care
  • Pass an enhanced DBS check company funded
  • Be flexible to work Monday
  • Sunday, doing early starts, late finishes and some nights.

About the role


As an Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) each day, you'll be helping someone in need, making their lives that little bit easier, and knowing that you make a difference to their day provides you with a real sense of achievement.


Your main responsibility will be transporting elderly, sick and vulnerable service users to and from their medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.

This can be carried out as two-person crews or alone, so it is vital to hold a full UK driving licence and to have a good degree of physical fitness.


Other duties include:


  • Assisting in the transportation of 'end of life' service users, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times
  • Building rapport by effectively communicating with patients and their relatives/friends
  • Responsible for lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the Ambulance
  • Assist with the handing over of patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospital's or to family/friends at their homes.
  • Transfer patients from beds to stretchers, chairs to chairs or similar both in and out of hospital and medical/commercial flights.
  • Assisting service users with challenging behaviour and/or mental health illnesses
  • Ensuring that the ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy
