Finance Assistant - £22,000 - £23,000 Per Annum - Norwich - Full Time - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract - Full Time/Part Time/Flexible Working To Be Discussed On Application

Reed Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a specialist leading wholesale company in the Norwich area seeking a
Finance Assistantto join their accounts team.


As part of a small but dedicated team, the
Finance Assistant will work closely with the Head of Finance to ensure all related tasks are effectively completed which will in turn contribute towards the efficiency of this well-established firm.

The
Finance Assistant position itself entails the following in summary:

Main Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger/ Suppliers

  • Ensure supplier invoices are entered to Xero in a timely manner
  • Maintain supplier accounts within Xero ensuring contact and bank details are up to date
  • Reconciling supplier statements and dealing with queries
  • Process foreign supplier invoices and process payments via online banking system.

Sales Ledger/Customers

  • Identify Wholesale receipts and send to the wholesale team for processing
  • Prepare and bank income in Xero for miscellaneous sales
  • Complete customer credit checks where applicable
  • Assist with receipt reconciliations across various platforms

Process Barclaycard & Amex invoices/receipts

  • Import credit card statements into Xero, enter invoices and reconcile
  • Ensure completeness of paperwork and chase for outstanding invoices.

Monthly Management Accounts

  • Support the Head of Finance with monthly management accounts preparation including calculations for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation journals
  • Reconciliation of nominal ledger accounts as assigned by the Head of Finance

Ad hoc duties

  • Completion of data for Commissions/Donation payments to Charities
  • Preparing adhoc analysis for businesses requirements
  • Assisting the Head of Finance with implementing new financial procedures and controls
  • Manage the "accounts" in box daily

Hours, Benefits and Salary Offered
- £22,000 - £23,000 per annum

  • 8hour shift, Monday to Friday, flexible hours and working pattern to be discussed
