Project Worker

Anglesea Road, Ipswich

37.5 hours per week - Early and late shifts between 8am - 8.30pm, 5 shifts per week, including weekend work

We are looking for an experienced Project Worker to make a real difference to the lives of our clients.

Our service supports people as individuals to maintain a tenancy and build life skills, promoting respect, independence and self determination.

We focus on peoples strengths, abilities and dreams for the future.

Anglesea Road is a purpose built hostel offering a mix of 18 flats and rooms to vulnerable young people.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme as well as on-going training to develop new and existing skills and encourage progression.

The role of Project Worker will include:

  • Regularly assessing the needs of clients by writing and updating support plans, and signposting access to education, training and employment
  • Supporting clients in their day to day living i.e. with cooking and cleaning
  • Offering advice in relation to fulfilling tenancy conditions
  • Assisting clients with managing finances and welfare benefits
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping clients to build their confidence, resilience and selfesteem
  • Working with statutory and nonstatutory agencies on behalf of the clients and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Promoting safe working practices by undertaking risk assessments within legislative frameworks

Skills and experiences:


  • Previous experience of working with vulnerable people
  • A sound knowledge of housing management, including voids and arrears management and an understanding of occupancy agreements
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and to react effectively under pressure
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, or similar
  • NVQ3 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards, is essential
