We are looking for a Emergency Response Officer to join us at our client site in East London.
Our site is a museum dedicated to applied arts and specializes in objects by and for children.


As a Emergency Response Officer you are an integral part of the team and you can make an impact with your skills to protect, deter and respond to any security matters, whilst providing an exceptional customer service experience.

A typical day in the life as a Emergency Response Officer:

  • Work closely with the Contract Manager (East), Site Lead and Customer representative manage and deliver the Customer's requirements.
  • Be an initial point of contact for all daily operational fire safety, health and safety and security related matters across the site.
  • To be the immediate response to first aid emergencies within the site.
  • Respond to and safety perform lift rescue as requested.
  • To effectively deliver health and safety toolbox talks with team members as directed by the Site Lead.
  • Carry out incident assessments and dynamic risk assessments.
  • To administer the museum Hot Work Permit and Isolation Permit system.
  • Provide a response to a hazardous materials spill onsite
  • To be fully conversant with all aspects of the computer operated fire alarm system.
  • Ensure that a weekly fire alarm test is carried out.
  • Make Daily Occurrence Book (DOB) enquiries and submit reports on incidents as instructed by the Contract Security Manager (East), the Site Lead or the Customer's representative.
  • Be aware of policy and procedures owned and changed from time to time by the Customer.
  • To positively participate in the Staff Welfare & Development Programme

  • Able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • An ability to think and act quickly in emergencies or under pressure.
  • Proven reliability including an ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, being able to adapt style to meet the needs of the situation.
  • Selfmotivated and able to maintain a high standard of personal presentation
  • A willingness to work cooperatively and constructively with both peer groups and the leadership provided by WJ and the Customer.
  • An ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal reports.
  • A flexibility to work shifts including weekends
