Description
We are looking for a full-time Library Assistant to join the small Music team in the Weston Library.

The Music Section forms part of the Bodleian's Department of Special Collections, caring for one of the largest and most important collections of music in the country and supporting the needs of academics, students, and more general readers from Oxford and around the world.

This is a crucial operational role, involving various tasks related to the administration of the music collections and is key to the provision of our service to readers.

You will assist with the processing of new material acquired through purchase, legal deposit or donation.

You will be working with music materials, fetching music scores on request from the stacks, as well as processing deliveries of reader orders from off-site storage.

Therefore, this role involves lifting and carrying boxes and bound volumes of sheet music, pushing trolleys, and re-shelving music scores and other library materials.

You will also be required to respond to basic queries about the music service.

This is a permanent, full-time post, working 36.5 hours per week, normally between 09:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday, although you may be required to invigilate in a reading room until 19:00 one day per week or at other times.
