Description

The Sheffield Perinatal Mental Health Service is expanding and there is a unique opportunity to join the team in a new role to support in developing the service to strive to deliver the commitments set out in the NHS Long Term plan.

We are looking for caring, compassionate, highly motivated individuals who are committed to supporting families to thrive.

We are in the privileged position to work with families at a highly personal yet crucial time in their lives and it is essential to have a respectful and non-judgemental attitude to engage mothers, their infants and families.
**The perinatal mental health service provides specialist care for women (and their babies) with moderate to severe mental illness such as bipolar disorder/psychosis or severe depression whilst they are pregnant or in the first 12 months after birth (to expand up until 24 months). The benefit of this specialist care at this early stage is to prevent longer term illness or disability and reduce the impact of bonding and attachment issues on the mother and baby and family as a whole.
