At the United Kingdom Health Security Agency (UKHSA) our mission is to provide health security for the nation by protecting from infectious disease and external hazards.
As an Evidence Reviewer your role will be to assist and support the production of rapid evidence reviews using systematic and rapid review methodologies, involving screening of studies, data extraction, critical appraisal, and evidence synthesis.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working - this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities for an element of working from home.
This role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for an element of working from home.
The balance between home and workplace working is to be agreed with the line manager, determined primarily by business needs and in line with departmental policy.
- Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas. Relocation expenses are not available.
The job holder will be required to carry out the following responsibilities, activities and duties:
- Use appropriate tools to support the production of rapid evidence reviews including development of the search strategy, screening of studies, quality appraisal, evidence synthesis and write up
- Ensure that full and accurate documentation is kept and be responsible for the accuracy and security of all data related to projects which the post holder manages or is involved in
- Support team members and colleagues in all aspects of the review process, and quality assure work of colleagues
- Contribute to the ongoing development of rapid evidence review work and other professional activity procedures and standards, including training activities and working groups
- Support the development and delivery of capacity building for evidence synthesis and utilisation
- Actively contribute to collaborative decisionmaking in relation to methods and outputs
- Prepare papers for presentation at local, regional or national meetings, workshops and/or conferences
- Statutory training as required, i.e. fire safety, information governance and all other mandatory training.
