£35,000 to £50,000 per annum plus car allowance


As a Technical Consultant within Optimised, you are responsible for delivering technical advisory services for our clients across all sectors, with a focus on energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions that contribute positively to decarbonisation, helping businesses make the two degrees of change.

Working alongside our Engineering and Managed Services teams, you help define the decarbonisation programmes that we subsequently implement and optimise over the long term.

Accordingly, you play an integral part in achieving the longer-term impact, growth and profitability vision for the business.

What youll actually do

  • Conduct onsite feasibility studies of plant and process to identify opportunities for energy, carbon and cost savings.
  • Interrogate individual systems and develop innovative solutions to deliver optimisation and decarbonisation outcomes.
  • Develop technical reports and investment grade business cases including fully costed scope 1 and 2 reduction pathways over short to long term time horizons, backed up with detailed impact forecasts covering energy, emissions and cost reductions.
  • Undertake data analysis including detailed trend and exception analysis of high frequency data to explain inefficiencies and model impact of proposed interventions.
  • Align scope 1 and scope 2 reduction programs with wider Net Zero transition plans produced by Net Zero team.
  • Advise and support on renewable energy generation and infrastructure solutions including heat pumps, solar PV, BESS, CHP, and other applicable technologies
  • Communicate with multiple stakeholders including, directors, clients, and delivery teams both internally and externally to advise best practise for energy management
  • Contribute to thought leadership through written papers.
  • Keep up to date with latest technologies, technical consulting best practice and professional qualification through CPD
  • Initiate and cultivate influential relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Convert company and local strategies into achievable operational plans.

What youll need

  • Electrical, Mechanical or Environmental qualifications essential, to a degree level or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of professional experience either performing energy or renewables audits in a variety of client sectors
  • Experience of renewable solution software i.e. PV SOL or similar
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel (Power BI desirable)
  • Ability to develop accurate assessments and reports to a high standard Commercial awareness of UK Government energy policy and incentives
  • Membership of Professional Institute and continual CPD (desirable)
  • UK drivers licence (and willingness to travel throughout the UK)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
