The Construction Specialist Safety Practitioner role is based within our Devonport Royal Dockyard business area.

The role

The difference our new Construction Specialist Safety Practitioner will make

As a Construction Specialist Safety Practitioner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you'll assist with the provision of Health and Safety Management support at Babcock/DRDL Devonport and its associated supply chain, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidance and site health & safety policies/ procedures/standards.


Day to day, you'll assist in the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the team with the aim of enhancing delivery of measurable performance while demonstrating a duty of care to staff in the working environment.

You'll also provide support to the Babcock Project Management/Principal Contractor teams providing specific specialist knowledge and advice and carry out, and report on, scheduled and unscheduled Active Monitoring checks and inspections.

This role is based Onsite at Devonport, Plymouth.


Essential experience

  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate (essential)
  • Experience working in highrisk construction environments (essential)
  • CITB SMSTS (desired)
  • CSCS Card (desired)
  • Membership of professional body (e.g., IOSH, IEMA) (desired)
  • You will need to satisfy security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance and NNPPI.
