Are you an aspiring leader? An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to recruit a Band 6 Deputy Team Leader, to cover Maternity Leave for a 9 month fixed term, within our Thoracic and UGI team, based at the City Campus.


As a deputy team leader, you must be committed to develop innovative, productive and more efficient ways of working with an emphasis on patient care and safety.

You will have a flexible attitude to work and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Main duties of the job


We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative and progressive person committed to the development of yourself, our team and both Thoracic and Upper GI services.

You will be fully supported to achieve a programme of personal development with opportunities that have an excellent track record of developing leadership talent.


Applicants will need to demonstrate aspirations to improve and develop current leadership skills, including coordinating and leading a team out of hours.

This post will require the successful applicant to provide evidence of excellent clinical scrub and anaesthetic skills.

Our team lead the way with practices such as anaesthetic overlap, effective theatre scheduling and sustaining a well organised environment.

We have established supporting a diverse range of services with our Thoracic/UGI Robot and EBUS programmes, together with supporting Cardioversion, POEM and Endoscopy work.


All persons appointed to the post are required to hold registration with their appropriate professional regulatory body and to comply with their professional code of conduct.

Evidence of on-going registration will be required.


You will be required to work 37.5hr flexibly, supporting full internal rotation with a commitment to lates, nights, weekends, bank holidays and on-calls.

Part-time working 30hrs+ can be negotiated.

  • To support and deputise for the Team Leader, taking managerial, clinical and professional responsibility for a team of practitioners.
  • To support staff, ensuring the provision of high quality patient care in the most efficient and safe manner in accordance with Directorate and Hospital policies and procedures

  • Able to effectively communication with the multi displinary team.
Desirable criteria

  • Can present a mixture of information from a variety of sources.
Training & Qualifications

  • Current level 1 NMC Registration or HPC Registration Part 1
Desirable criteria

  • Junior/Supervisory management course.
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Two Years Speciality experience including robotics

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
