Description
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Environment Assistant to join our Land and Water teams in the West Midlands, based in either Lichfield or Shrewsbury.
These teams regulate farming activities, water discharges and water abstraction licences to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.We also undertake pollution incident response and investigation and work with partners to improve the quality of our precious rivers.
Your role will be to provide administrative support to these busy teams and to help them work efficiently. Your role will also include a variety of administration tasks and responsibilities for the wider Area.The team
- The West Midlands Land & Water team covers a diverse environment encompassing stunning areas of natural beauty to the challenges of large urban population centres
- Proven administrative experience.
- Highly organised and able to deal with confidential, high profile and sensitive issues.
- Act as an initial point of contact, communicating with the team so information and advice is delivered accurately, efficiently and in a timely manner.
- Excellent communication skills building effective working relationships quickly with a track record for working well to deadlines.
- Flexible and resourceful, able to deal with shifting priorities, taking ownership of issues.
- Work effectively and efficiently on your own, dealing confidently with last minute changes.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel are essential.
