Job Overview

Support a contract team in the provision of a high quality general maintenance service; ensuring the upkeep of designated areas by carrying out general and specific duties as directed in line with the agreed contract specification.

Main Duties

Carry out general maintenance and repairs to a designated building, its fabric, fixtures and fittings, as requested by the customer and/or Mitie contract management team, maintaining internal and external premises and surrounds.
Liaise with Interserve contract management team on the day to day running of the building the reporting of issues relating to operation and appearance.
Carry out routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions are achieved.
Ensure entrance and exit points are clean and tidy.
Ensure adequate stock of cleaning materials is held at site.
Assist in the packing and removal of equipment and furniture from site.
Address any acute internal issues for example blocked drains, toilets, minor spillages, replacement of light bulbs and lamps.
Painting and decorating as agreed and directed by management.
To help setting up rooms for the business day including AV equipment, sound systems, media systems, setting up furniture and so forth as required by customers.
Accountable for communicating the status of work to both the customer and Interserve contract management team.
Maintain high standards of personal performance, hygiene appearance and attitude at all times.
Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by management.
In the event of snow and frost, the clearing of designated access routes within the schools precincts.

What we are looking for

Previous experience as a handyperson in a customerfacing environment will be essential,
Physical / Dexterity for manual handling accountabilities.
Experience and skills within painting/decorating, carpentry, plumbing and tiling.
Able to work in a demanding and busy area.
Basic computer knowledge would be expected.
Basic knowledge of heating and air conditioning plant would be desirable.
Qualifications in Carpentry and Painting & Decorating would be desirable.
Flexible/Adaptable approach to work.
Friendly and approachable manner, with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work on their own with mínimal supervision.
Sets and maintains high standards of delivery.
