Description:


The Buyer role supports the Procurement function to support the delivery of products into the site from the external supply chain.

This role will primarily be to support and manage the Sub Tier suppliers of the business ensuring that all Suppliers are meeting delivery schedules to maintain the sites production output targets.

This would be a Hybrid role working between the main facility in Coventry and home primarily but may require the occasional visit to Supplier sites as required.

Reporting into the Procurement Lead, you will be able to articulate any upcoming issues, possible solutions and actions being taken to meet the delivery requirements.

Responsible for the procurement of goods, services and supplies and the transactional requirements of orders being raised on time, to understanding any constraints, which will affect time delivery into site.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Ensures compliance to government laws, regulations, ITAR and procurement policies and procedures
  • Provide administrative support for the suppliers they are responsible for.
  • To ensure that Purchase orders are placed in a timely manner and that delivery schedules are strictly adhered to.
  • To ensure Purchase orders are accurate to avoid invoice queries.
  • Support the Companies Sub-Contract Purchase order requirements, placing PO's and progressing in line with production requirements.
  • Work with the production team to ensure that planned requirements are correct to production and sales demand.
  • Support the RFQ and contract review process by obtaining quotes as required
  • Ensure that PIR's are kept up to date in line with the latest supplier delivery lead times
  • To establish and support supplier relationships to maximize supply chain effectiveness.
  • To Liaise with Stores to confirm and support on timely delivery of supplies
  • Ensure all approved Electronic Purchase requisitions are actioned in a timely Manner and Tool Management system requirements are up to date.
  • Work with the procurement team to ensure that all Departmental KPI's and Targets are achieved.
  • Support the procurement department on the management of the supplier base, ensuring on site presence to resolve issues and succeed with OTIF delivery
  • Have a problemsolving mindset, and presenting solutions to the business to achieve results.
  • Comply and support all Compliance directives/requirements

Secondary Job Functions:


  • Support Quest Global's Project/Team Leaders and Program Mangers regarding execution and closure of statements of work or projects
  • Develop/Enhance work instructions to implement best practices / lessons learned and ensure repeatability of tasks

Educational Requirements

  • Good written & verbal communication
  • Ideally either Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply or equivalent (ie APICS).

Knowledge/ Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Supply Chain environment
  • Understanding of supply chain/purchasing procedures
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and those used by departments interacting with the supply chain function
  • SAP experience
  • Ability to interface effectively with suppliers, customers and other Company personnel.
  • High degree of flexibility
  • Competent in Microsoft office enabling the use of basic excel to create line of balances / recovery plans etc.
