Job description

RNIB's ECLO team (Eye Care Liaison Officer) supports people with sight loss and their families in eye clinics throughout Northern Ireland.

This role is offered on a bank basis, working approximately 20 hours a week at various times, Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing
You'll be providing support to the ECLO team, making information accessible to the person you're supporting.

You'll be transcribing inaccessible information, checking work from a visual aspect, providing assistance to update databases, taking notes and other administrative duties.

You'll also provide support during meetings and events, including the navigation of unfamiliar venues and locations which may not always be accessible by public transport.

You'll have a driving licence and access to your own vehicle, and travel costs will be reimbursed.

Who You Are
As a Support Worker, you'll understand the challenges experienced by people with sight loss and the support they need. Previous experience in supporting blind and partially sighted people is beneficial, but not essential.

As well as administrative experience including proof-reading and data entry, you'll feel comfortable working with Office 365 and similar software.

You will also feel confident in communicating with others, including those who visit the eye clinic as well as those at external venues.
