This is an exiting opportunity for a Ward Receptionist to join a diverse and motivated team that are dedicated to the development of skills and the delivery of high quality safe care.

The post is on the Renal Dialysis Unit at the City Hospital, we have 40 stations over two units for patients to dialyse.


As the Ward Receptionist, you will often be the first point of contact for patients and visitors when entering the unit so a friendly welcoming smile and excellent communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job

Tasks will include but not be limited to fulfilling all necessary reception, clerical, administrative and general tasks required to facilitate and record patient information using technology systems.

Staff are expected to be courteous and considerate at all times and have excellent customer care skills.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities


Basic computer skills will be needed and an understanding of Microsoft word and excel Basic typing skills is a necessity preferable at RSA level 2.

NUH programmes such as Medway, PTS Online and Notis would be an advantage.

Essential criteria

  • Previous Experience as a Receptionist
  • Customer Care
Desirable criteria

  • Previous Employment within a Health field / or working within a team
  • Clerical experience

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • Secondary school standard of education in basic numeracy and literacy
  • Evidence of personal development in previous employment
Desirable criteria

  • Competent at using Medway System
  • Nationally recognized qualification in basic literacy and numeracy
Communication and relationship skills

Essential criteria

  • Able to produce short accurate written messages and effectively communicate with patient, visitors.
  • Good Telephone manner

Salary:
The quoted salary will be on a pro rata basis for part time workers.
