Project Support Worker (Central Functions and Volunteer Force)

Salary:
£22,369 per annum


Hours:37 hours per week (3 days per week Central Functions and 2 days per week Volunteer Force support)


Contract Type:
Initially fixed term for 12 months


Travel expenses:
Public transport at cost or 45p/mile


Pension:

Purpose of Job

The main duties of the role are:

  • To deal with general CVS and project specific enquiries over the phone, online or face to face and to ensure they reach the correct project or staff member.
  • Covering the main reception phoneline.
  • Provide administrative support to the Management and Finance team.
  • Safe storage of documents in accordance with GDPR.
  • Providing general administrative support to other CVS projects as required under the direction of your Line Manager.
  • Ensuring publicity materials are available for events that we attend and that there is a supply in the office.
  • To support the Volunteer Force Coordinator with the administrative tasks of our volunteer centre
  • Supporting the organisation and running of Volunteer Social and Celebration events.
  • Supporting the preparation and delivery of training for volunteers.
  • Conducting surveys and collating the results of these on the experiences of volunteers.

To support the above work the post holder will be expected to:

  • Monitor their work, keep accurate records and produce reports and statistics as required;
  • Attend CVS staff and team meetings, staff training and organisational development days and the Annual General Meeting;
  • Liaise with staff in partner agencies;
  • Be responsible for their own health and safety and the health and safety of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work;
  • Comply with CVS policies and procedures;
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as agreed with their Line Manager.

Qualifications:


  • Good standard of education and/or evidence of personal development (equivalent to Level 2)
Experience

  • Experience of handling client information
  • Experience of using and maintaining a database
  • Experience of managing and prioritising tasks
  • Experience of office administration
Knowledge

  • Working knowledge of office software packages including Microsoft Word, Outlook & CRM
  • Understanding of confidentiality
  • Understanding of equality & diversity
  • Understanding of Safeguarding

  • Enthusiasm and commitment
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to undertake a variety of tasks
