Our client a nursery setting based in the Reading area is looking for a Preschool Room Leader.


Reporting to:
Manager/Deputy Manager


Required Qualifications:

NNEB, NVQ or equivalent. Minimum two years' experience preferred. Expected to undertake First Aid Training and Basic Food Hygiene if not already held.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Very good verbal presentation and communication skills, a caring attitude, and strong ability to demonstrate leadership to junior colleagues. A background within or Montessori diploma would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in your care resulting in the total avoidance of preventable accidents and promoting a feeling of security and satisfaction amongst all parents.

Caring for the all-round daily needs of the children to enhance their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
Supervise all staff within your room to ensure high standards are constantly achieved.
Contribute effectively to the team maintaining a high level of communication throughout the whole nursery.
To ensure the provision of care meets the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage.
To be a professional role model, mentor, and guide to apprentices, taking on specific leadership tasks as needs arise
To provide effective support to the manager/deputy
To take charge of the team in the absence of the manager/deputy.
To work with the Senior Leadership Team and take on specific responsibilities as your skills and experience allows.
To attend external training courses as required and keep abreast of any developments in current childcare practice through independent professional study
To undertake other duties as required
Ensure that you adhere strictly to the COVID 19 policies and procedures.

To work as an effective part of the Nursery team ensuring you and your staff maintain good morale, a high reputation both in and outside of the Nursery and ensure all Nursery standards are met.

Have a high level of awareness of company policies and procedures and ensure these are carried out by yourself and your staff
Train and support new staff using the Staff Training Programme.
Include and encourage all staff members in their daily activities and development by leading by example.
