An exciting opportunity to join a leading Business School and globally renowned University.

We are looking for a brilliant Departmental Administrator who can provide high-quality fast and responsive assistance and administrative support to the academic staff in the Department for Management and Entrepreneurship, and the Department of Analytics, Marketing, and Operations, and the associated Research Centres.


You will require advanced administrative and time management skills to balance multiple tasks, and will be a proactive self-starter who can work independently and as a part of a team.

An ability to establish excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels is critical.


Duties and responsibilities:

You will be working directly with world-leading academics, supporting them administratively.

The role is quite varied, but primarily will involve working on event logistics, finance processes, some HR and recruitment, and managing external visitors.


You will be working as part of a team in both departments, would be split between the two departments on a 40:60 basis.


Essential requirements:


  • Significant previous administrative experience demonstrating a high level of organisation, time management, and multitasking ability.
  • Experience in dealing with issues of confidentiality with tact and discretion, and able to get on with people from all backgrounds having interpersonal skills to work with staff at all levels from academics to members of the public
  • Experience of maintaining and using backoffice functions such as administrative systems and Microsoft Office 365 Suite
  • Experience of organising online events such as webinars, conferences and meetings using apps like Teams
  • Knowledge of data protection including GDPR
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high standard of written and spoken English to enable drafting documents such as minutes and presentations
  • Flexibility to work in a changing environment, within given procedures and regulations
  • Able to be assertive and tactfully explain policy and the importance of compliance even in the face of resistance
  • Proactive attitude, with a 'Can do.' outlook
  • Show willingness to work outside normal office hours, when necessary, to meet recruitment deadlines or in the preparation or manning of conferences
  • Able to work independently, and as part of a team
  • Able to work and establish relationships with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally.

Further information:

The contract is full time and open-ended.

The College's work location framework allows for some flexibility in work location / hybrid working.

This role requires an average of 60% of time working in person on campus, usually 3 days per week, but with some variance as needed for operational requirements.
