If you answered yes to the above, then this PRU Teaching Assistant role is for you

PRU Teaching Assistant

For this PRU Teaching Assistant role you will be required to support students who have been removed from a mainstream school on a temporary or permanent basis, this could be because of attendance, behaviour, gang related issues, young pregnancies or for anyreason that they aren't able to work off of a mainstream timetable.

Your role will require you to support the students during their lessons which will include Maths, English, Science, ICT, History, RE, Geography, PSHE, PE, Design Technology, Food Technologyand more.

Depending on the students age, some of them may be working towards their GCSEs.

As well as supporting them through their lessons, you will also need to manage their behaviour and encourage them to want to take part in their lessons as some will decideto walk the corridors or disrupt the lesson.

Therefore, the ideal PRU Teaching Assistant for this role will need to have experience working with young people, be able to build a strong rapport and be a role model who can encourage them to make the right choicesand get the most out of their education.


Pupil Referral Unit

This Pupil Referral Unit in located in Southwark and is a short walk from London Bridge station making it very commutable from most areas of London.

They caters for girls and boys aged between years who have been removed from a mainstream school ona temporary or permanent basis.

They currently have 50 students who attend and in their last Ofsted in June 2018, they were reviewed as 'Good' in all areas.
