Key Responsibilities


The role will involve working within an experienced survey team, on a variety of sites throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK, utilising RTK GNSS, Total Stations & Laser Scanning equipment.

Due to the nature of the work, a flexible approach to working hours is essential, as is a willingness to stay away when necessary.


Responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out land surveyor duties
  • Support the management of day to day operations of the survey team
  • Ensure high quality site and drawing deliverables
  • Liaising with Survey Principal and working with IKM engineering team to support multi disciplinary projects
  • Prepare fee proposals and manage small survey projects.
  • More than 5 years' experience of surveying: topographic surveys, measured building surveys, bathymetric or river surveys, laser scanning
  • PNSS PPK post processing experience
  • A strong knowledge of the latest survey technology including: Robotic Total Stations & GPS Receivers (Trimble/Leica), AutoCAD experience, LSS (preferred but not essential)
  • Processing Survey data and issuing drawings/reports
  • Experience of preparing method statements and risk assessments, and checking those prepared by others.
  • A survey related qualification to HND/Degree level
  • Competent working alone and in teams
  • A flexible approach to working and a willingness to stay away from home when necessary
  • Driving licence
  • An enthusiasm to Professional Development opportunities for Drone or Utility Surveying exist.
