Data Protection Manager

Farnborough, Hampshire / Hybrid working (1-2 days per week remote options)


Data Protection Manager required by my client who are a thriving cutting-edge technology company delivering secure-by-design Agile, fail-safe and fail-fast on-premises and cloud-based solutions in to the Defence & Security sector in both a live project (inproduction) and also a POC / experimental project capacity.

A few details about the role

  • As a Data Protection Manager you will have a very interesting, challenging and diverse role.
Some of your responsibilities will include providing Subject Matter Expertise on the following:


  • On local business processing and systems.
  • On Groupwide policies, where applicable.
  • For all projects across the business as appropriate.

What you will need

  • Demonstrated experience in Data protection / dedicated role.
  • Excellent understanding of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) / DPA 201
  • Demonstrable influence in shaping and determining changes to processes, policies and procedures.
  • A keen eye and curiosity for detail and filling in gaps.
  • Promotes and embeds good Data quality and Information security principles as an integral aspect, leading by example.
  • Working in partnership with internal and external teams and stakeholders to ensure the best protection is provided.

Nice to have (non-essential)

  • MOD / Government Experience
  • GDPR Foundation and Practitioner Accreditation (Desirable)
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
  • Desirable
