We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a
Functional Skills Tutor, where you will be delivering Functional Skills 5 days per week Monday-Friday, you may also be required to do some online delivery as and when required.

We are an Ofsted Good provider offering a variety of education options to young people.


As a Functional Skills Tutor you will be supporting students aged 16-18 to achieve their functional skills qualifications in both, Maths and English, ICT up to Level 2.

We are looking for a Functional Skills Tutor who can motivate and inspire our students to achieve their full potential whilst on our programme.


We recommend you read our Ofsted Report of 2016 and also peruse our website for more information on the many programmes we can offer young people at Nova Training.


You must have previous teaching experience and be able to work with a range of learners including some who may be challenging at times and some who will have moderate learning difficulties.

Applicants will be asked to undertake assessments during the interview screening process and will be required to demonstrate a level of competence, to qualify for employment within Nova Training.


Essential Skills:


  • Previous experience in working with groups of young people with specific barriers to learning
  • Relevant Functional Skills or Maths and English Experience.
  • A Minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
  • Full Teaching Qualifications I.e. Cert Ed, C&G7407, CTTLS, DTTLS
  • A Minimum of GCSE C grade or level 4 in Maths and English
  • Excellent Classroom management skills.

Desirable Skills:

Experience in delivering training or supporting young people 14-1- IAG Qualification.

  • TAQA Award in Assessing or Verifying.
  • Have led projects involving young people.

Contract:
Full Time, Permanent


Salary:
Up to £30,000 pa (depending upon skills & experience)


Hours:37.5 hrs per week / Mon-Fri
