Technical Competencies:
- Populate and maintain the companies material and plant cost databases and feedback cost increases to Estimating
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers for a variety of interior fitout materials, furniture, and equipment.
- Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers.
- Prepare and issue purchase orders following company policy.
- Track and monitor purchase orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities.
- Manage supplier relationships, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
- Identify and implement costsaving opportunities throughout the procurement process.
- Stay uptodate with market trends and new product developments within the interior fitout industry.
- May be required to undertake site visits to assess supplier capabilities.
- Proficient in Word/Excel/Powerpoint
- Experience with Chalkstring software would be advantageous but is not essential.
Person Specification
- Relevant experience as a Buyer within a construction or related industry (e.g., interiors, facilities management, builders merchant).
- Strong understanding of procurement principles and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Experience in using procurement software systems.
- Experience in the construction or interior fitout industry (a plus).
- A meticulous and detailoriented approach to work.
- Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A valid UK driving licence (essential).
