Job Description:
Under the guidance of the Contract Engineering Lead (CEL) for Piping Contracts in HPC, the
Open Point / Design Change (OP/DC) Coordinator is to support a variety of stakeholders within the Bristol RD organisation and at the HPC site regarding piping contracts.
- Identifying open points, modifications and seeing them through to closure
- Engaging teams responsible for impact analysis
- Verifying modifications are assigned to the correct reference configuration
- Oversee technical instruction for modifications in line with required dates
Provision of technical assistance / support services to:
- Fast track client piping OP/DC instruction from opening to closure
- Follow up on decisions along HPC governance process and keep contemporary records of them
- Initiating proactively design OP/DCs with team collaborator and key project stakeholders within OP and DC mantis project data bases
- Defining OP/DC contributors list within OP/DC mantic project data base
- Defining comprehensive and valuable optioneering for the project within OP/DC mantis project data base
- Collecting, chasing and collating of contributions in OP/DC mantis data base
- Substantiating concise and valuable lesson learnt toward other ongoing EPR projects in particular SZC
- Maintaining OP/DCs dashboard on weekly basis
Qualifications:
Essential
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- Experience in design preferably in nuclear industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good understanding of various stages of system's design (basic design, detailed design and execution design) and the different disciplines involved.
- Analytical minded
- Keen to learn and open to working on a variety of different activities
Desirable
- Good understanding of various stages of piping system's design (basic is fine)
- Experience in change management for multidiscipline / complex engineering projects
- Knowledge of RCC-M code / ASME / EN standards
- Experience with design context and regulatory processes in the United Kingdom
- Understanding of EPR or general PWR design
**Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
