We are looking for a Head of Service to lead our Corporate Parenting Service in the City of York.
As Head of Service you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction and oversight of our Corporate Parenting services, ensuring that we are delivering high-quality care and support to children, young people and their families.
There is not a better time to join us as we embark upon embedding our 'Brighter Futures' Practice Model, which includes service wide implementation of Signs of Safety and Family Seeing, changing the way in which we think and work with families throughout our involvement.
The role:
You will provide dynamic and innovative leadership across Children in Care, Care Experienced Young People and Adoption services in the City of York.
You will be responsible for strategic leadership across the service ensuring robust assessment and support services to all our children, progressing plans at pace and keep children and young people at the centre of everything we do.
You will lead and drive the Corporate Parenting Strategy along with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to support services in line with national and local requirements.

You should be enthusiastic about improving services for children in care and care leavers with a demonstrable track record of leading and managing teams, be able to provide support and motivation to staff and teams to drive forward change and improvement.
You will have in-depth knowledge of legislation and policy relating to children in care and care leavers along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders.
