What you'll be doing

  • Liaising with Third party Vendors and escalating incidents as appropriate
  • Triaging and managing incident and request tickets using effective ticket management practices
  • Aiding in the strategy for tactical and maintenance activities.
  • Taking responsibility for: time management; reporting and monitoring; risk management; issue management; quality assurance; and change management.
  • Carrying out other tasks as agreed with the internal Application Support Manager and Team Leader.

What we're looking for

  • Degree qualified and relevant professional qualifications and experience
  • Proven experience and technical knowledge of Windows server environments
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Experience of managing vendor relationships and holding Service reviews
  • Knowledge and experience of using of relational databases, including standard database technologies such Oracle, MS SQL Server
  • Able to understand and analyse code
  • Able to acquire an understanding of a problem or situation and develop an effective approach to investigation and resolution
  • You have a passion for customer experience and a commitment to delivering service excellence
  • You believe that how technology is used and experienced is just as important as the technology itself

Skills, experience & qualifications - Desirable

  • Experience of Sharepoint/Office 36
  • Formal training in Service Management disciplines (e.g., ITIL)
  • Experience of working with Moodle and Turnitin is preferable
  • Familiar with php, ASP.NET and javascript technologies
