The Company

Able Bridge Recruitment are thrilled to be working with an independent manufacturing business in the North side of the Glasgow City centre.

We have been approached to support the business in the recruitment of a finance assistant/administrative assistant on a permanent basis.

The role will be office based and will report to the managing director of the company.

You will be working within a small team in the office as well as a number of operational employees who are based in the manufacturing area.

The role has been the result of an employee retiring after almost 25 years of employment with the organisation. The office based team are friendly, chatty and professional.


The Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to be the stand alone accounts assistant for the organisation as well as supporting the business with administration tasks.

You will have regular interactions with the widder business and you will be the go-to person for all accounting related queries as well as supporting the external firm of accountants who finalise the accounts.


On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;

Responsibility for the maintenance of the purchase ledger including input of invoices received, coding the invoices and preparing them for payment by the managing director.

Accountable for the sales ledger and general invoicing of clients as and when an order has been fulfilled. This will include posting the invoices as well as distribution.
Liaise with clients over queries that may arise over the fulfilled orders and or invoice queries.
Ensure payments to account are managed and bad debt risk is limited.
Allocate money received by clients to the relevant account and relevant invoice.
Reconcile various bank accounts to ensure that the cash position is reflective within the accounts.
Assist colleagues in the production of marketing information.
Production of reports for the managing director on a case by case basis.


The Requirements

We are seeking a professional accounts assistant who has at least 2 years of experience within a similar role to the above (within the UK).

We are not looking for a qualified accountant and would suggest that the successful applicant will be qualified by experience or AAT part qualified.

The team and company culture is one where everyone works hard for each other but there is fun to be had at the same time.

We are looking for an individual who is happy to be involved in tasks that are wide reaching and somebody who has a nothing is too much bother attitude.

The company are not easily accessible by public transport and do offer free off road parking.
