A position has arisen for a
Year End Accountantwithin a prestigious local authority in South Wales.

Location:
South Wales - Hybrid

Duration: 6 months initially

Rate:
£220 per day via Umbrella

IR35 Status:
Inside

Duties & Responsibilities:

Maintain awareness of funding sources with a view to maximising the resources available to the Council
Develop and maintain relevant financial management systems and associated records
Prepare and maintain system/procedure notes relating to the duties undertaken by the postholder ensuring their continued relevance, accuracy and completeness
Prepare and clear member and officer reports as required
Preparation of year end accounts
To undertake ad hoc assignments and financial analyses as necessary in support of the wider functions and responsibilities of the Division

Essential Experience:

Wide knowledge and understanding of Local Government finance, with a good understanding of accounting standards and codes of practice
Experience of preparing financial reports, budget monitoring and undertaking reconciliations
Ability to lead on financial and accounting tasks on 'project basis', including undertaking the necessary research
