ROLE


The main operational responsibilities of the role revolve around production of accurate financial accounts and compliance audits across various small business operations.


The successful applicant would be able to accurately utilise Sage accounting software along with Excel to produce reports to benefit the path of the various businesses.

These reports include project reports, P&L etc. and are required in most cases on a quarterly basis, but in same cases on a weekly schedule.

The quality of the data within the report is clearly as important as the presentation of such. Therefore ability to understand the figures and highlight queries is essential.

To then communicate such issues with suppliers, colleagues in the department and management of the businesses inputting with a intention to resolve is critical.

The accounts sturcture is highly organised and a consistent approach to retain that is required.

The systems utilise imported CSV function to help to achieve consistency, so understanding of data in that format is also key.


Whilst the core role is of producing reports with data provided, clearly the ability to source the required data and input is extremely helpful, and would be essential for a commitment to extended hours in any offer of employment.

The business has a long standing purchase ledger clerk in place, along with office manager. It is hoped that other administrative tasks may be undertaken on behalf of the business by this new role to give further opprotunity for the director to dilute administrative responsibilities, and include
- making BACS/FPS and other electronic and traditional payments to suppliers and creditors
- creation and distribution of customer invoices and account statements
- collation, checking and entry of sales data
- producing inter-company invoicing
- submitting company confirmation statements through WebFiling

  • VAT audit, calculations and submission
There is a hybrid working offered with office space and home working (if requested, after successful induction).

Hours and days of work are highly flexible, but are preferred to be focused on Tue/Wed/Thu between 10am and 2pm.

£12.00-£16.00 per hour
