Job Title:
Employer Liaison Officer


Contract: 37.5 hours per week (Normally Mon-Fri, Generally, 9am to 5pm) but some flexibility will be required to cover events at weekends.


Salary:
£24,500 per annum


Location:
To cover Swansea Bay area (base location to be determined)

Project overview:


Cyfle Cymru is a Peer Mentoring project which helps people develop confidence to make positive life changes, and provides support to access training, education, volunteering and employment.


Our peer mentors draw on their own lived experience to support people affected by substance misuse and/or mental health conditions.

This Cyfle Cymru project aims to support young people not in education, employment or training, and those that are economically inactive or long term unemployed.


Job Purpose:


  • Identify work placements and suitable sustainable employment opportunities for participants while actively promoting the service to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Liaising with employers to source suitable vacancies and opportunities as well as providing inwork support.
  • Identify and establish contacts with local employers through innovative outreach and marketing activities to promote the programme, its service and the benefits of recruiting our participants.
  • Plan and deliver annual employer focussed events.
  • Provide support to the employer including professional advice and support, communication and presentations regarding the participant of Cyfle Cymru.

Responsibilities:


  • Use of various sales and marketing skills to recruit employers, identify suitable opportunities to which participants can be matched.
  • Work closely with the Peer Mentors and communicate effectively in order to ensure work placements, traineeships, apprenticeship and other employability opportunities are filled.
  • Liaise with both the employer and participants during the six month postemployment to ensure that outcomes are sustained.
  • To work with the Peer Mentors and trainer to provide training to the employer around Mental Health and/or Substance misuse.
  • Gather information from the employer around the interview process, job entry and sustainable employment.
  • Record all activities in compliance with both organisational and Welsh Government regulations. This would include client sessions records, timesheets and any other outcome monitoring required of the Scheme.
  • To have a some understanding of the difficulties that our client group face, be able to work with the Peer Mentor to implement appropriate measures of support while in employment.

Person Specification:

No specific qualifications are required, although educated to A level is essential

We ask that applicants have the following experience:

  • Experience of working in community-based services and with vulnerable client groups.
  • Experience in negotiating and coordinating employment opportunities with organisations in various settings.
  • Experience of working with other agencies.
  • Experience of working with clients who are experiencing poverty and barriers to employment.
  • Experience of working with individuals who have/had substance misuse issues or Mental Health issues is desirable.
