Description
Band 4 Full Time Assistant Psychologist - Inpatient Rehabilitation

Highgate Mental Health Centre, Dartmouth Park Hill N19 5NX

An opportunity has arisen to join our enthusiastic, experienced and dynamic teams as a Band 4 full time Assistant Psychologist, based in the inpatient Rehabilitation Service.

This job opportunity comes during an exciting year, when we will be preparing to move our inpatient wards to the new Highgate East wing, due to open in late 2023.

Our Mental Health Rehabilitation pathway is long established and uses a whole systems approach to recovery, that maximises an individual's quality of life and social inclusion, by developing their skills and promoting independence.

Inpatient Rehabilitation helps people with severe psychosis and complex needs make the transition to successful community living.

This is an excellent opportunity for a psychology graduate with an interest in the field of mental health rehabilitation and an enthusiasm for working in inpatient settings.

The successful applicant will be a talented communicator, be keen to develop their psychology skills and have confidence in using data collection and evaluation, to inform service development.

The role will involve working primarily in the well-established inpatient service for Camden and in the recently developed five borough service, when it reopens in our new wing.

There is a Long-Term High Dependency Unit, offering a locally based specialist rehabilitation service for male service users, from across the North Central London area, who have a primary diagnosis of psychosis alongside significant healthcare needs and comorbidities.

The post may also involve occasional duties in other services along the rehabilitation pathway in community settings.

The post holder will work closely with the Rehabilitation Psychology Lead within a variety of roles, including assessment and psychological intervention for service users and their carers, addressing the particular needs and challenges for this client group.

Representing psychology in multidisciplinary working and an opportunity to assist with service development in the new wing will be included.

Confidence to use IT skills to presentations and analyse data is valued as part of supporting research and service development.
