Description

Are you a skilled Fitter who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, supporting operational teams and keeping equipment in tip-top condition? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for an additional Fitter to join our Depot Team in Birtley.

As a Fitter, your primary responsibility will be to keep our GCU HGVS, plant and equipment running smoothly, ensuring mínimal interruptions caused by mechanical breakdowns.

Your duties will include mechanical assessments of returned plant, conducting repairs and servicing, completing garage repair and service sheets, and conducting function tests before issuing equipment to operational teams.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience working in a Fitter's position, a J2 Telehandler Trained (or willingness to train), ideally a Cat B driving licence, and formal Plant Fitter qualifications would be desirable.

You should be able to work on your own initiative, be safety-conscious, and adhere to GCU's health and safety policies and processes.

Our Depot Team is responsible for the smooth running of our stores, workshop, and transport services.

You will be part of a collaborative team that supports operational teams and ensures the equipment they rely on is well-maintained and in excellent working order.
