Waste Transfer Station Operative

Job Description:

Your Duties:

Control all site traffic, including directing heavy goods vehicles depositing waste and recovery materials.
Inspect and ensure accuracy of duty of care documentation for municipal waste entering the station.
Maintain site cleanliness, including litter clearance, cleaning of site offices, vehicles, and site infrastructure.
Safely store and monitor levels of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and other banned wastes.
Operate and maintain various plant and machinery, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Notify management of safety concerns and unauthorized activities onsite.
Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations and waste management site license.
Participate in training programs and maintain knowledge of waste management best practices.

Your Profile:

Essential Criteria:

Full, current C1 driving license valid in Northern Ireland.
Minimum one year of experience in labouring within heavy industry, operating/maintaining plant machinery, and providing customer guidance in a facetoface environment.
Ability to pass a driving assessment.
Willingness to attain a JCB telescopic handler license and receive training on compact sweepers upon employment.

Special Skills and Attributes:

Strong health and safety awareness in a highrisk environment.
Technical knowledge of directing commercial vehicular traffic and handling operations alongside heavy plant machinery.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in dealing with the public.
Customer care orientation and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Proficiency in work planning and prioritisation.

Assignment Details:

- £11.81 per hour.
