About them:


Our client are a medium size firm of directly authorised independent financial advisers with offices in the centre of Bristol.

The firm was established over 35 years ago and specialises in retirement advice with a bank of over 800 clients.

They are a proactive organisation and the work flow is high.


The Business Administrator role:

You will be part of the team responsible for the implementation of client's investments with providers.

Full training on their procedures will be given but you must be able to demonstrate the ability to follow varied instructions.

You will need to have a keen eye for detail and accuracy when dealing with client information.

You will need to be an advocate for their clients' best interests making sure that they receive the high level of service which they have come to expect from them.

This may mean going above and beyond normal procedures where applicable to anticipate problems.


The Business Administrator duties:


  • Tracking the process of all new business, following up queries with the Insurance Companies, and updating clients.
  • Dealing with routine enquires from Insurance Companies.
  • Checking documentation to satisfy money laundering legislation
  • Submitting proposal forms to Insurance Companies online or via the post.
  • Purchasing units of collective investments and shares either via online systems or over the telephone.
  • Arranging switches of funds via online system or on paper. Tracking the progress of such switches.
  • Create short reports from standard documentation using word processing skills
  • Use, maintain and manipulate database to ensure that accurate up to date information is accessible to all members of staff
  • Liaise with other members of the team to resolve problems
  • Maintaining new business book.

The ideal Business Administratorwould be able to organise and prioritise their workload effectively. They should have the ability to work without supervision once trained.

They should be proactive in identifying and solving day to day problems which may arise and be able to work in a pressurised environment from time to time.
