Aon is recruiting a Cyber & E&O insurance coverage specialist to join its Financial and Professional Services' "Coverage and Insurable Risk Team" based in London.

This is a newly created role to support our Cyber insurance broking team in EMEA and will as a key member of the Cyber Insurance Leadership team in the region.

The role is for a UK or dual legally qualified coverage specialist with strong technical ability to join a busy and dynamic team.

The role will suit a 5+year PQE lawyer (senior associate or equivalent).

No specific Cyber experience is required but would be an advantage.

What is required is experience and expertise in policy wording design and drafting, insurance coverage advice and/or insurance coverage disputes.

What the day will look like:

Supporting colleagues in the broking teams in tailoring wordings according to client needs in light of prevailing law and regulation
Assisting in the negotiation of policy terms on behalf of clients
Working with Aon's major clients on their Cyber policies
Owning the technical aspects of some of Aon's Cyber insurance facilities
Designing and drafting of new insurance products
Supporting and participating in client RFPs
Collaborating with the Claims team to reflect claims experience in policy wordings
Training colleagues on significant legal and regulatory issues impacting policy wordings and programme structure
Providing technical thought leadership

How this opportunity is different:

You will be part of a growing team, supporting the EMEA Cyber broking teams and will be given thorough training, guidance and supervision.

You will have a primary focus supporting the Cyber business of Aon in EMEA although there will be opportunities to work with the wider Aon community including Aon's other international network of offices.

You will have a dual reporting line to the Cyber Insurance Leader in EMEA as well as the Coverage and Specialist team in London.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

Insurance lawyer in private practice or insurance industry with proven experience in insurance law, including experience of handling significant coverage negotiations ideally both at placing and claims stage
Ideally five years' relevant postqualification experience
Excellent legal drafting skills
Ability to engage both the broking teams and client teams to convey sophisticated information in an accessible way
Excellent understanding of London and international insurance market dynamics and core processes
Commercial awareness and the ability to consider clients' demands and needs in the design and drafting of new insurance products
