Description

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating programmes of care for women, babies and their families without supervision. Co-ordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to assist in implementing personalised midwifery care. Provide expert midwifery advice to midwives, other health care professionals and to women and their families.

To assist in setting, maintaining and improving the standards of midwifery care (this will include assurance work, quality audits and use of quality improvement methods).

Liaise with and maintain good relationships and communication with a multi-professional team.

Escalate when area exceeds safe staffing skill mix or acuity To seek advice and support from senior colleagues where appropriate Initiate and participate in research/evidence based practice To further own professional development and knowledge Attend mandatory study days Maintain and develop own personal professional portfolio of learning and development.

Be aware of and participate in Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Clinical Risk strategies, including guidelines and incident reporting Maintain high standards of documentation following Trust guidelines Support and action Trust policy regarding HR processes.
