The Communities & Sustainability team plays an active role in supporting and influencing Heathrow's leadership to operate in a sustainable way while positively engaging with residents and community groups surrounding the airport.

The team aims to build relationships with key stakeholder groups based on trust, credibility, and transparency, allowing Heathrow to effectively play its part in the economic and social prosperity of its local communities.


In this exciting role you will support the delivery of engagement with Heathrow's local community stakeholders on key operational impacts related to noise, airspace, and other key environmental issues, helping to protect and enhance the reputation of Heathrow Airport.


You will develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the communities neighbouring the airport, understand their noise and airspace issues and ensure that our engagement plans take account of their concerns.


HAL_E_Stakeholder Engagement Co Supporting the operational delivery of the Community Relations Helpdesk, working as a team to answer noise and airspace queries and provide information ensuring we deliver high quality customer service.


  • Providing administrative support for Heathrow's regular programme of Noise and Airspace Community Forums, workshops and working groups this includes supporting with secretariat duties and supporting the delivery of digital and social media communications; ensuring website content is both engaging and accessible.
  • Drafting responses to residents, MPs and local authority stakeholders on community issues related to noise and airspace as required.
  • Supporting the delivery of regular reporting on noise complaints and operational data such as night flights and provide content for external documents and reports.
  • Developing key internal stakeholder relationships, including liaison with the Flight Performance, Airspace and Airside Operations teams to ensure there is a consistent position across the business through the team's communications and to support airspace change engagement.
  • Demonstrable experience of producing copy for stakeholders, simplifying complex issues accurately and writing inclusively.
  • Understanding and evidence of a collaborative approach and team working within a large organisation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, influencing and conflict management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and a completer/finisher mindset.
  • The ability to translate technical information into simple key messages.

Ideally, you'll also have:

  • An interest in aviation.
  • Experience of designing and developing innovative and interactive engagement and communications tools and activities.
