Here, at CrossReach's Short Breaks service, children and young people enjoy time away from home.

Based in our Glasgow hub in Springburn, we have been providing residential care for children & young people with learning disabilities and complex needs for almost 30 years.

The children and young people we support have faced more challenges than most.

It's our job to give them a home away from home by providing a caring and therapeutic environment where our focus is on meeting their needs - whether that be having fun and making friends or growing in confidence and developing skills for independence.

Surrounding this child-focused approach are the ideas, nurture and commitment of our team, who work together to ensure that every child enjoys the best possible care and reaches their full potential.

As a Relief Children's Worker, you will be an essential part of our team.

You will play a crucial role in providing care and support to children and young people during periods of staff absence or increased demand.

Your flexibility and willingness to step in when needed will ensure the continuity of care and maintain a nurturing environment for the children and young people we serve.

While experience in working with children and young people, particularly those with learning disabilities, is beneficial, so too is a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of children and young people.

Your ability to adapt to various situations, work collaboratively with the team, and provide a safe and nurturing environment will be key in this role.

Your exceptional communication skills and empathetic nature will enable you to establish positive relationships quickly and provide a sense of stability and support during transitional periods.

As this is a relief role, you will be able to achieve your work life balance with shifts that fit in around your other co0mmittments.

We will provide you with the necessary support and training to excel in your responsibilities, ensuring that you are equipped to provide the highest quality care.

Being part of our relief team offers unique opportunities for personal and professional growth.

You will have the chance to work closely with a diverse team of professionals, gaining valuable experience, connections and broadening your skill set.

As we do our work in Christ's name you must be respectful of our Christian Ethos and be able to work within it.

This post requires you to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme and undertake the necessary vetting checks.

You will also be required to be registered with SSSC and it is your professional responsibility to ensure that you meet the standards and criteria for registration.

We have a legal obligation to ensure that it does not employ any worker who has not been granted the relevant permission to work in the UK.

This permission is without exception granted by UK Visas and Immigrations. We are required to check the entitlement to work in the UK of all prospective employees, regardless of nationality or job category
