The Role:


Investment specialists are embedded in the investment teams and work with the fund managers to articulate investment messages to internal and external clients.

The role is designed to facilitate the growth of the business, in addition to the retention of existingassets under management.

The Investment Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality written content, as well as overseeing the production of presentation materials and would be expected to take on client facing responsibilities as soon as possible - presenting toclients predominantly in the UK.


Key Responsibilities for this role:


  • To develop an indepth working knowledge of financial markets and portfolio positioning
  • To have a firm understanding of the investment philosophy and process of the Sustainable Multi Asset strategies, as well as the drivers of performance, fund positioning and portfolio activity.
  • To deliver on deadlines and manage expectations.
  • To generate ideas and create new content.
  • To establish strong relationships and credibility with stakeholders from investment teams and sales teams to investment marketing, marketing and press.
  • To work collaboratively with colleagues and take personal accountability to maintain and enhance controls you are responsible for to support improvement of the overall control environment, customers outcomes and a reduction in M&G's operational risk.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


  • Knowledge of, or keen interest in, financial markets. IMC preferable, CFA over time.
  • Knowledge of, or keen interest in, sustainability. CFA ESG certificate (or similar) preferable or over time.
  • Excellent public speaking / presentation skills.
  • A background in equities or fixed income with 5+ years of experience in Asset Management
  • Numerical and analytical skills ability to respond to client demands.
  • Written and verbal communication skills ability to explain complex investment themes in simple language to a range of audiences.
  • Messaging skills ability to focus on key issues.
  • Attention to detail precision and rigour in the execution of tasks.
  • Strong work ethic an individual driven by results and achievements.
  • Working knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Word, Bloomberg
  • Organisational skills ability to manage a wide range of tasks and shifting priorities.
  • Time management skills ability to meet deadlines.
  • Interpersonal skills ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proactive nature ability to foresee future requirements and act accordingly.
  • Selfstarter a dynamic individual who can work independently.
  • Team player ability to make a positive contribution to the vision of the investment specialist tam
  • Foreign language skills not a requirement, but an advantage.

  • Applies judgement to deliver outcomes, evaluating a range of potential solutions, considering the impact for customers, cost and risk
  • Manages conflicts that may impact delivery
  • Challenges upwards given knowledge of delivery and awareness of complex systems and the broader picture
