Description

NON CYC VACANCY

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a Lottery Funded programme to deliver whole family support where children and young adults care for a family member with complex needs.

We are looking for an individual who has a genuine interest in using their experience and skills to support others; who can work within the boundaries of confidentiality and work effectively and engage sensitively with a wide range of clients, including children and young people, and their family members with physical and mental health needs.

The role requires an experienced, confident practitioner, preferably with a relevant qualification.

However, emphasis will be placed on your experience of delivering whole family interventions that improve family functioning and promote positive mental health and emotional well-being.

Working collaboratively with our friendly dedicated team, including a CBT Therapist, the Family Support Worker will support an allocated caseload of families, with regular reviews and assessment of progress.

The post holder will have a good understanding of the negative impact that caring responsibilities may have on children and their development and be committed to York Carers Centre procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and adults.

If you are empathetic and compassionate with excellent communication and engagement skills, are proactive to motivate and create change within complex family situations, can deal confidently and effectively with challenging situations and have experience of advocating on behalf of vulnerable individuals, then we'd love to hear from you.

The role will involve flexible/hybrid working travelling to and working from a range of outreach venues in the York area.

In return we'll offer you:
The opportunity to make a notable contribution to our work in making a difference to the lives of young carers and their families in York

A friendly supportive working environment

Generous Annual Leave

Great flexible hybrid working options

Learning and development opportunities

Contributory pension scheme
