Description
We are currently looking for a IT desktop support specialist to join a cell and gene innovation organisation. This is an office based role in the Hertfordshire area.

As the IT desktop officer you will be responsible for leading all IT support activitieson site including responding to service desk queries and assisting implementing new technology.

The role is part of a small 1st/2nd line onsite team reporting into a team lead.

The purpose of this role is to be the first point of contact for the IT Team, supporting effective user communications.

The Administrator must provide a high level of professionalCustomer Service, with a timely and accurate response to IT request fulfilment and incident handling.

Your duties as the IT Desktop officer will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows.

  • The role will provide site IT support assistance, supplying solutions to queries where possible, or referring their issue to other sections of the IT team where necessary. Ensuring all queries and requests are recorded in the service desk system, activelypursuing and following up queries on behalf of users.
  • You will provide IT desktop support including desktop/laptop support including the following technologies: Microsoft Office 365 products - Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Internet Explorer, Windows 7, Q-Pulse, SAP By design, desktops, laptops, printers, networkedcopiers and others as assigned.
  • As the IT desktop officer you will help on site collaborators access equipment and data systems as well as ensuring that acceptable service levels are maintained across all systems
  • Liaising with Quality teams, as required, to ensure all regulatory requirements are met, document changes / policies where required and help across IT Security, IT asset management, Software licensing etc.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Proven industry experience in an IT desktop support role in a highly regulated environment ideally biotech, pharmaceutical, health or similar
  • Strong IT skills, including desktop support, including the delivery of new IT projects and delivery
