Here at Serco, we are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to improve the financial knowledge and control environment to support increased profitability for the AASC contracts within the Justice & Immigration business.


The AASC contract, which covers two regions, is the largest in Serco Group and has a dynamic operating environment given the nature / changing scale of the services, providing accommodation and associated services for asylum seekers, on behalf of the Home Office.

This role has a specific focus on Contingent Accommodation with a scope of over £500M turnover within the AASC contract.


In this key role you will be responsible for providing dedicated, commercial and financial decision support aligned to strategic and customer priorities, to win good business and improve shareholder value.

You will work to challenge assumptions, influence decisions, and make recommendations for efficiency improvements to sustain growth.


As part of this you'll:

Act as a supportive finance & commercial partner to the AASC Senior Finance Business Partner to ensure efficient finance processes, drive financial performance and minimise risk
Deliver timely and accurate financial performance reporting and support contract forecasting and budgeting processes
Be the key contact with customer (commercial & pricing) and wider internal and external stakeholder management
Own the customer and vendor contract data (contractual rates & volumes, contract expiry dates etc)
Bring new market insight and analysis to support the development of financial and commercial aspects of the contract and any changes in operational delivery

Provide financial support and insight to key customer and vendor relationships on the contract and help to manage those relationships.

Mitigate risk by ensuring we have appropriate supply contracts which mirror, as far as possible, our customer contract obligations & terms
Manage one direct report day to day (Hotels Administrator)


What you'll need to do the role:
Must hold an appropriate professional qualification for the role (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
Track record of collaborating with business leaders in a complex business environment
Experience of adding value in a commercially orientated bidding and contracting environment
Evidence of ability to influence, negotiate, listen to and resolve conflicts with key decision makers
Ability to highlight problems, offer innovative and practical solutions, and drive through your execution
Strong commercial acumen, as well as a strong understanding of the relationships between key financial and non-financial business value drivers
Willingness and ability to travel within the UK
