Description

To provide a comprehensive and organised support system to ensure a highly effective administration service for the development and delivery of the Qualifications in Ophthalmology both University, Pearson accredited and CPD accredited courses and to do so for the duration of the awards.


This is a highly responsible role with a multi-national perspective, as all staff working within the NHS-DESP are required by mandate to be suitably qualified and/or accredited.

The Qualifications are also provided to staff working within the national screening programmes in and Northern Ireland, and apprenticeships are available for the degree qualification within England, and the UK & Ireland for direct entry students.


  • In conjunction with the Qualifications Coordinators, be responsible for data input and maintenance of systems and processes to accurately record and monitor registration and ongoing activity of assessors/mentors and internal verifiers to meet the requirements of Pearson Approved Centre and the requirements of the relevant national programmes.
  • Supervise, allocate work to and be responsible for the DRS Quals Assistant

  • Time management to co-ordinate areas of responsibility to meet often very tight deadlines especially when dealing with time-limited on-line examinations, nationally-imposed requirements or impending expiry of registrations
