A great opportunity to join a leading manufacturing business as a technical specialist to join a busy team to be responsible for realising operations driven semi-complex packaging changes.

In addition, to manage the overall project delivery and coordination of tasks across supporting functions to facilitate end to end project delivery


The key responsibilities include:

  • Work with internal Teams to interpret pack improvement ideas, managing technical conversations to determine the direction and outcome of packaging changes with suppliers.
  • Support and deliver the assessment and appraisal of new and existing suppliers to ensure that their operational capabilities meet the needs of existing and future company requirements.
  • Manage project teams through the Copper Gate Process to ensure successful delivery of packaging improvements to agreed timings specified quality standards and financial targets
  • Work with internal Teams to align component testing, and line trialling plans to ensure any packaging improvements or value engineering initiatives are fit for purpose, qualified within manufacturing and are ready for handover to business as usual.
  • Work with the supply base to develop and qualify packaging improvements in line with agreed quality, aesthetic, and functional standards, concluding in the creation of accurate material/component specifications.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external supply partners to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Maintain close relationships with suppliers to ensure their uptodate knowledge and adherence to product specifications.
  • Identify, develop, and share ideas for packaging and component rationalisation, standardisation, and/or improvement of quality, cost levels, and CSR / environmental impact.
  • Follow and comply with all processes, standards, and guidelines in the performance of your role, reporting any nonconformances in a timely manner.
  • Contribute and participate in the Team Performance System through engaging in team meetings and taking an active part in problem solving activities.


This role is for a person, who has developed knowledge and expertise in 'labels, cases, cartons & tubes' manufacturing environment, someone who is customer facing and has a record of accomplishment of enhancing our current packaging materials.

Someone who has experience of managing projects beginning to end.
