Description
We have a new oppourtunity for a Materials Coordinator to join our team.The purpose of this role is to assist in providing timely, effective and professional planning services to the Company and act as an interface between suppliers, other departments and the customer.
To ensure the right material arrives at the point of fit at the right time, whilst ensuring that inventory levels are kept to a required level in line with changing delivery targets.
To help deliver clear, data-driven production schedules in line with Customer quotations and agreed delivery schedules; to monitor work in progress and identify solutions to maximise efficiencies in support of Production.
Duties include:
- Helping to identify, report and implement planning and scheduling process improvements
- Assisting with the clear communications of project timelines, material deliveries, key deadlines or agreed review points, work orders and transport requirements
- Supporting the Production Manager in the planning of labour hours against capacity
- Monitoring stock availability and variances, and reporting on finished goods stock levels
- Working with the Materials Handlers to arrange inventory cycle counts
- Liaising with the Engineering department to ensure accuracy of any Bill of Materials (BOM).
Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Previous experience within operational planning and scheduling
- Good analytical skills and critical thinking, to enhance Planning effectiveness
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (further training can be provided where necessary) as well as good knowledge of an ERP system.
- Experience with, or knowledge of, Project Management led planning
Desirable:
- A background within Engineering would be useful but is not essential.
- Purchasing experience would be helpful
- An organised approach and comfortable with administration based tasks.
