The Role:
As a Development Technician you will work closely with our Design and Pre-Production Teams, to produce working prototypes using CAD.
You will be fully responsiblefor following each product through the Making Room and supporting the Craftspeople where necessary.Duties & Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with all key stakeholders to fully understand the design specification to understand their vision for construction/look.
- Understanding of 2D patterns on MicroCAD; to complete small trials for design.
- Manage prototypes through the Sample Room, ensuring they are made accurately and in line with the required quality standards.
- Set up and follow all carryover styles for production.
- Set up all cutting markers for Vector machines.
- Work with key stakeholders, specifically the Quality and Implementation Team to verify samples are ready for production.
- Ensure all Showroom samples are setup e.g., cutting specifications, ordering oftrim knives and any sample specific tooling.
- Transfer any handwritten specifications on the making process to Illustrator, ready for production.
- Check and track all new press knives are aligned to the patterns prior to handing over to production.
- Supportproduction support teams and complete work to deadlines.
- Support in other areas of Development when needed (for example, Sample Stores).
- Work on special projects.
- Follow and set up new technology into production.

Skills & Experience Required:
- Previous experience producing patterns and samples in luxury leather goods. accessories advantageous.
- Computer literate, with Illustrator experience desirable.
- Enjoys working as part of a team.
- Motivated to learn new skills.
- Excellent communicationskills; written and verbal.
- Has a proactive attitude, energy, commitment and focus to ensure delivery of results.
- Able to identify problems both broadly and in depth ensuring a creative approach to meeting challenges.
- Adaptable: can adopt a flexibleapproach to work and adapt quickly and effectively to unexpected changes whilst ensuring objectives are met, particularly to cater for peaks in business demands
